Short bio

Keri Latimer is a Winnipeg-based composer, songwriter, and thereminist whose music blends prairie-rooted storytelling with dreamlike, off-kilter textures. Best known as the voice behind the alt-folk project Leaf Rapids (and formerly the Juno-winning band Nathan), she creates work that feels both grounded and slightly sideways.

Her film and TV work includes contributing music to the Academy Award–nominated feature Frozen River, as well as scores for shorts, features, and interdisciplinary projects. She has appeared as a featured soloist with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, including the Canadian premiere of Björk’s Family for strings.

Under her experimental moniker ÓFukami, Keri explores transmissions from imagined futures—shadowy signals, melodic fragments, and sci-fi–tinged soundscapes hovering at the edge of consciousness. Alongside her own projects, she regularly records backing harmonies and guest vocals for other artists and bands.
